Pubs L

The Lamb - Church Street. Formerly known as the Holy Lamb, this pub was once a popular venue for live bands but closed in 2000 and is now being used as residential accommodation.



The Lamb & Packet - Friargate. Named after the Lamb on the Preston Coat of Arms and the Packet Boats which used to run on the nearby canal, which was drained in 1959 for the extension of the Harris College (now the University).



The Lane Ends Hotel - Blackpool Road. The pub was opened in 1852 as a Coaching Inn with some of the rooms also used for the brewing of ale.
During the Second World War the upstairs rooms of the pub were used by Boddingtons Brewery to store hops and other ingredients away from the air raid threats of Manchester. At the same time the cellar was used as a shelter and soldiers were billeted there.

Last Orders - Water Lane. Previously known as The Wheatsheaf (Built 1857) and Mighty Muldoons.



The Lime Kiln - Aqueduct Street.
Lionels Bar - Tithebarn Street. This pub was previously known as the Guild Tavern and The Central Hotel and as you can see it is now closed.

The Lovat Road - Obviously on Lovat Road. This pub closed in 2005 and is now being used for residential accommodation.
