Pubs R

The Railway - Butler Street. Prior to the widening of the railway lines, Butler Street boasted no fewer than eight pubs, the only remaining one being the Railway.

The Red Rose Inn - St Pauls Square. Another of the backstreet pubs that is now closed.

Reflex (The 80's Bar) - Church Street. Formerly known as the Coach House and prior to that the Red Lion. This pub was one of the main coaching houses in Preston prior to the advent of the Railways. Prior to 1850 the pub was used at election time by the Liberal Party candidates with the Tories using what is now called the Old Bull which is opposite.

The Revolution - Main Sprit Weind. Previously known as Lou's Long Bar, but now more up market.

The Ribble Lodge - Ribbleton Lane. Formerly known as The Villa.

The Ribble Pilot - Mariners Way.

The Ribbleside - Broadgate.

Roper Hall - Friargate. A pub downstairs with a club upstairs.

The Royal Consort - Meadow Street.

Royal Garrison - Watling Street Road. The Garrison was first built in 1848 and was used as the Fulwood Barracks, in 1877 it became the officers accommodation and shortly after the Royal Garrison Hotel. A tunnel was found some time later leading to the current barracks but it is not known for what it was used for.

The Royal Oak - Plungington Road. Currently seeking a new owner.
